Genesia Ventures Leads Seed Round Investment in NOMU, Pioneering Personalized Beverage Experiences Through Proprietary Technology

Genesia Ventures led the seed round investment in NOMU ENTERPRISE LLC (hereinafter “NOMU”), following the pre-seed round. NOMU delivers a new beverage experience through personalization and proprietary technology.

The funding was conducted through the group company NOMU ENTERPRISE PTE. LTD. (Singapore).

Background of Investment and Market Opportunity

Against the backdrop of lifestyle diversification, demand for personalization is expanding in the food and beverage sector. Technology-driven personalization not only increases user satisfaction but also addresses environmental issues such as food loss. At Genesia, we resonated with NOMU’s concept of “Freedom in Every Sip” — their commitment of reimagining beverage enjoyment through technology while contributing to a circular society led to the investment decision.

Business and Product Features

NOMU provides innovative personalized beverage experiences centered around its proprietary reusable cup-based drink machine, NOMU POD.

In September 2025, NOMU collaborated with Yokohama City to install its first machine at Yokohama City Hall and begin pilot testing. The company is now refining the user experience based on feedback. NOMU’s reusable cup-based beverage system through the POD is proprietary technology for which a patent has been filed.

  1. Personalized and Enjoyable Beverage Experience Users can create their own “beverage of the moment” from over one million combinations, drawing on more than 150 varieties of black tea, green tea, coffee, and fruits. They can adjust sweetness and flavor, and add supplements tailored to their physical condition. The menu will continue to expand.
  2. App and POD Integration Enhance the Experience The app enables ordering, personalization, hydration tracking, and access to recommendations from other users. Users can customize their drinks while conversing with the AI bartender “NOMU-chan.” Every moment of the experience is designed for enjoyment — from naming and design to the POD’s appearance and creation process. App features will continue to expand.
  3. Craft Server with Carefully Selected Ingredients NOMU uses no artificial sweeteners. By leveraging natural sweetness and selecting ingredients that align with growing health consciousness, NOMU creates beverages suited to each individual’s needs.
  4. Reducing Environmental Impact Through Reuse Japan has one of the highest per capita plastic bottle purchases globally, averaging 183 bottles per year [*1]. NOMU addresses this by adopting the stainless steel reusable cup NOMU TASO (proprietary development, patent pending) to reduce plastic waste. Use of Funds and Future Direction

The funds raised will be allocated primarily to talent acquisition and technology/product development, expanding services in both Japanese and overseas markets. With the planned opening of the NOMU Experience Store (tentative name) to broaden user engagement, NOMU will pursue continuous improvement based on customer feedback.
