Genesia Ventures announces a follow-on investment in funfo’s Series A round through its Genesia Venture Fund 3 (GV-3). funfo provides the “funfo” app that enables restaurants to implement mobile ordering with ease.

funfo provides a free and easy-to-use mobile order & POS service primarily designed for small and medium-sized restaurants. With its exceptional UI/UX that facilitates self-service and seamless payment integration, the app has become the preferred choice for many restaurants.
The company operates on a freemium model without contracts, offering basic functions at no cost, which allows restaurants to test the service without financial commitment. Its modular design enables simple setup — restaurants just install the app on an iPad or iPhone and log in to connect their POS registers, handheld terminals, Kitchen Display Systems (KDS), printers, call monitors, and other components without complex installation. The system is versatile enough to accommodate restaurants of any format or size.
Beyond ordering functions, funfo enhances marketing through automated LINE-integrated customer management (CRM) capabilities. The platform also enables data-driven decision making with its AI-powered analytics. These advanced features have led to widespread adoption across more than 6,000 locations as of February 2025, ranging from izakayas and cafes to institutional settings like school and company cafeterias, and even for meal sales on trains.
Use of Funds and Future Outlook
The funds raised will support the following initiatives:
- Enhancing dining experiences and adding value: Continuing to improve the app while adding self-checkout capabilities and strengthening automated customer management and database functions that transform POS from merely a “Point of Sales” to a comprehensive “Point of Service.”
- Launching new services to address both restaurant and consumer challenges: Rolling out the food app — a gourmet ticket pre-purchase platform (beginning June 2025). This will create fresh customer touchpoints by addressing restaurant acquisition challenges while meeting consumer needs through collaboration with influencers.
Under its mission of “connecting people and food,” funfo continues to build new food infrastructure through its app that simplifies mobile ordering for restaurants, enhances customer experience, and supports efficient operations.
