Investment in Seed Round of Almure, Developer of Confidential Computing Infrastructure for Enterprise AI Agents

INVESTMENT

Genesia Ventures announces its investment in the seed round of Almure, Inc. through Genesia Venture Fund 4.

Almure develops infrastructure that enables enterprises to securely use confidential data with AI Agents through its proprietary Confidential Computing technology.

Investment Background

In enterprise system development, the cumbersome process for security checklist compliance has become the single greatest bottleneck for AI adoption. This process requires teams to comprehensively verify cybersecurity risk mitigation measures and demonstrate their adequacy, with requirements varying across industry-specific security standards in sectors such as finance, manufacturing, healthcare, and defense. While advances in AI have made it possible to complete system development in a short timeframe, deployment in enterprise environments typically still takes several months to over a year.

To address this structural challenge, Almure is developing its proprietary Confidential Computing technology. While conventional security measures have focused on encrypting data “in transit” and “at rest,” Almure’s technology also protects confidential data “in use” (Data-in-Use). By replacing traditional operational security measures with Security by Design at the architectural level, the company aims to create an environment where enterprises can adopt and utilize AI with confidence.

Business Overview

Almure’s Confidential Computing technology isolates and encrypts execution environments at the hardware level, allowing data to be processed in a state that is inaccessible even to cloud providers or system administrators. Also referred to as Confidential Computing / Trusted Execution Environment (TEE), the technology encompasses approaches such as Confidential VMs and Hardware Enclaves.

Historically, computing technology development has followed a bottom-up approach, building upward from general-purpose infrastructure layers — a method that can take significant time before reaching application-level needs. Almure takes a top-down, purpose-built approach, working backward from the practical requirements defined by each industry’s security standards. This approach enables the company to achieve what has been difficult with conventional Confidential Computing technology: delivering cryptographic key management-level protection while also providing the versatility required for advanced AI processing.

Use of Funds and Future Outlook

The JPY200 million raised in this round will be allocated to:

  • Further strengthen R&D in Confidential Computing technology
  • Accelerate product development for security infrastructure for enterprise AI Agents
  • Hire core team members and strengthen the organization

About the Investment

Shu Sokabe, Investment Manager, Genesia Ventures

As AI evolves into autonomously operating agents, the greatest barrier to full-scale enterprise adoption is the lack of a secure environment in which AI-generated code can be executed. Through a proprietary architecture that leverages Confidential Computing technology, Almure aims to be the first in the world to deliver confidentiality and response speed at the same time — tackling the fundamental challenge of protecting sensitive information for large enterprises in defense, finance, manufacturing, and other sectors. We see tremendous potential in Almure’s mission to build an irreversible competitive advantage at the execution infrastructure layer for the AI agent era.
