Genesia Ventures Announces Final Close of Its $113M Fourth Fund
Genesia Ventures announces the final close of its fourth fund, Genesia Venture Fund IV Investment Limited Partnership (“Fund IV”), at $113M. The fund is dedicated to investing in seed-stage startups across Japan, Southeast Asia, and India.
About Genesia Ventures
Genesia Ventures is an independent venture capital firm focused primarily on seed-stage startup investments and hands-on support across Asia. The name “Genesia” combines “Genesis,” meaning origin or creation, with “Asia,” reflecting our aspiration to become a venture capital firm that helps shape the future of Asia.
About Fund IV
Through Fund IV, Genesia Ventures will continue backing ambitious founders from the earliest stages of company building. The fund is backed primarily by domestic and international institutional investors and financial institutions.
Since inception, we have supported startups and founders across Japan, Southeast Asia, and India through both capital and operational support. Building on the knowledge and networks cultivated across these markets, Fund IV is centered around our “Asia Origin” vision — the belief that globally impactful companies will increasingly emerge from Asia’s unique structural shifts.
As technological breakthroughs such as AI continue accelerating alongside energy transition and Asia’s economic rise, long-standing barriers that once constrained industrial progress and latent demand are dissolving at unprecedented speed. We believe this moment will create opportunities for a new generation of startups to build globally significant businesses from Asia.
Through our offices in Tokyo, Jakarta, Ho Chi Minh City, and Bengaluru, we will continue leveraging local knowledge, regional networks, and cross-border collaboration to provide hands-on support for portfolio companies.
Fund IV will focus on founders building transformative businesses at the intersection of these structural changes and technological shifts.
Investment Philosophy and Focus Areas
We do not define our investment strategy by fixed industry sectors. Rather than focusing on categories themselves, we pay attention to the underlying drivers of change shaping each market. As these drivers evolve and begin affecting new domains, our investment focus evolves with them.
What we build as a team is not a list of sectors, but an ability to understand the structure of change itself. As a result, our investments have ranged from animation production technologies to material purification technologies for nuclear fusion reactors—fields that may appear entirely unrelated on the surface.
Through Fund IV, we will continue supporting globally impactful founding teams from the earliest stages, regardless of industry category.

Message from the Management Team
Soichi Tajima, Founder & General Partner
We are deeply grateful for the support from numerous institutional investors and corporate partners, which enabled us to establish Fund IV at $113M.
We believe that multiple revolutions are unfolding simultaneously and accelerating one another in a compounding manner: the information revolution driven by generative AI, the trust revolution enabled by blockchain, breakthroughs in energy and computational power such as quantum technologies and nuclear fusion, and advances in life sciences including biogenomics. Together, these shifts are creating unprecedented opportunities for startups.
While remaining firmly committed to investing in seed-stage startups, we will continue backing founders operating at the intersection of these transformational changes and pursuing opportunities with the potential to create significant societal impact.
As fundraising hurdles beyond Series A continue to rise, founders at the seed stage are increasingly required to achieve stronger traction and build resilient teams earlier than ever before. To do so, sufficient capital at the earliest stages is critical. While increasing our fund size, we will be more selective in the number of investments we make, allowing us to invest more deeply and provide stronger support to each company. We welcome entrepreneurs who aspire to create transformative industries and encourage them to reach out to us.
Takahiro Suzuki, Head of Overseas Investments / General Partner
Rapid advances in technologies such as AI have led some to question the future potential of startups. I believe the opposite is true. At a time when AI, energy transition, and Asia’s economic rise are happening simultaneously, long-standing barriers that once prevented industrial progress and latent demand from emerging are being removed at unprecedented speed.
I strongly believe this is an era in which startups have expanding opportunities to create major businesses and industries. Since our founding, we have remained deeply rooted not only in Japan, but also across emerging Asian markets including Southeast Asia and India.
Our “Asia Origin” vision is to work alongside entrepreneurs building companies born from Asia’s unique challenges and structural transformations — and help them create global impact.
Toward realizing our mission of “building platforms where sustainable industries emerge in Asia,” we will continue serving as a bridge connecting Japan, Southeast Asia, and India — facilitating regional collaboration and partnerships between startups and large corporations, while supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs shaping the future.
