Chika joined Genesia Ventures as an Executive Assistant in April 2025 After graduating from university, she began her career at Dentsu Live, where she worked as a project manager on promotional campaigns—particularly event promotions—for clients in the automotive, beverage, government, and publishing sectors. In 2016, she joined Forbes JAPAN, a global business magazine, where she led the launch of its event business, brand communications, and community design for business leaders. She also contribute pro bono to deleteC, an NPO that supports cancer R&D through donations.
She hold an MBA from IE Business School (Class of 2024).

I belonged to a jazz dance club in middle and high school. At university, I majored in Sociology and Media, and developed a passion for exploring unique advertising campaigns, creativities, and technologies around the world.

Favorite country/episode

Spain and South Africa: I lived in Madrid, Spain for about a year while pursuing my MBA, and during the program, I spent five weeks in Johannesburg, South Africa for a consulting project. One of my interests and passions is African art.

Favorite Company/Vision/Value

Shueisha (Weekly Shonen Jump): I spent about three years working onsite with the Weekly Shonen Jump editorial team. That experience shaped my core mission—to support creators who bring new value to the world.

Why did you choose to work at a VC?

While working at Forbes JAPAN, I got to know the world of startups and had the opportunity to meet a wide range of entrepreneurs and learn about their stories. This experiences motivated me to join Genesia Ventures, with the goal of contributing to the Japanese startup ecosystem and creating an environment where founders can truly thrive.
