SHU SOKABE
Profile
Shu Sokabe holds a master’s degree in engineering from Tohoku University.
He conducted research on metal-free battery materials, engaged in the technical development of a university-affiliated startup based on his own research, and participated in a student rocket development project.
Fascinated by the moments when technology reshapes social structures, he became deeply interested in solving the “rate-limiting” factors that lie between technological realization and industrialization.
He joined Genesia Ventures as an intern in 2022 and became a full-time member in 2023.
Shu primarily invests in deep-tech sectors such as chemistry, materials, energy, biotechnology, AI infrastructure, and space, while also exploring broader themes that drive structural change in society.
He has supported over 15 startups, bringing expertise in scaling technologies from laboratory to production.
He excels at understanding how early-stage technologies take root in society—reconstructing the path from design and process to equipment and partnerships into a sustainable growth structure.
